ASTON - 1st place in the ranking of the largest exporters of sunflower oil in bulk for 2017
Information and analytical portal "Oil World" has published a rating of the largest exporters of sunflower oil in bulk from Russia at the end of 2017.
Within the last years the sunflower oil became for Russia one of the most efficient drivers for a development on the global agricultural market. As a processing product the sunflower oil, contrary to the grain, is a more profitable export article for the country. According to the results of the year 2017, Russia has increased the sunflower oil export by 32% — to the record volume of 1.8 million ton. In money amount, the export has been increased to the level of 77.5 billion Russian rubles or 1.3 billion US dollar.
ASTON is on the first place within the rating of largest exporters of sunflower oil from Russia. According to the data of "Oil World", the export volume in 2017 was 391 thousand ton in comparison with 331 thousand tons in the previous year. As traditional countries for export deliveries remained Egypt and Turkey. In 2017 the Company has opened new markets in Iraq and Iran. It is to mention, that in the said rating there has been participated only the ASTON JSC, but in the whole ASTON Group has exported 613.5 thousand tons of sunflower oil of Russian origin, including own bottled oil and FOB purchases.
The second place takes the EFKO Group with the volume of 346 thousand tons of oil. The Company has started to deliver the sunflower oil to India — and so being the first Russian exporter to this country.
The third place takes the NMGK Group. Within a year the Company has increased the export of sunflower oil form 55 thousand tons and up to 175 thousand tons. Among the main purchasing countries there are China, Iran and Iraq.
The fourth place with a share of 8% takes the Solnechnye producty Group. Within a year the Company has increased the export by 48 thousand tons, up to 144 thousand tons. The main purchasing country remains Turkey. New markets are Iran and Iraq.
The fifth place among the five biggest companies takes the Yug Rusi Group (South of Russia), which was the second in the rating in the previous year. Within a year the Company has reduced the export volume by 74 thousand tons, and her share on the market decreased twice, down to 8%.
It is to mention, that as far back as in the beginning of the year 2017 the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation has called the national companies to diversify and to widen the geography of their export deliveries as active as possible. According to the results of the year we can see that the winners are those who have followed this advice. According to the words of the Executive Director of the Oils & Fats Council of Russia Mr. Michail Malycev, the Oils & Fats Production Complex has among all other branches of the Russian foodstuff industry the largest potential for export growth – to the year 2025 it can reach the annual volume of 7 billion US dollar.
