ASVA, a joint venture between ASTON and Vandeputte Huilerie SA, has signed a cooperation agreement with the government of Rostov region.

Today, on January 17, 2020, in Berlin, as part of the international food exhibition "Green Week 2020", the Government of Rostov region and ASVA Limited Liability Company have held a solemn ceremony of signing a cooperation agreement.
The investment project for the construction of a flax processing plant with the funding of 1.6 billion rubles was signed by Governor of Rostov region Vasily Golubev and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ASVA LLC, Henri-François Christian M. Vandeputte.
The construction of flax processing and linseed oil production plant is planned in Novoalexandrovskaya industrial zone of Azovsky district of Rostov region and will meet the growing demand for healthy and eco-friendly products rich in Omega-3 and create more than 30 new jobs.
Production capacity of the new enterprise will be 450 t/day, it is also planned to create facilities for one-time storage of up to 30 thousand tons of flaxseed, the annual capacity of linseed processing will be 160 thousand tons.
"The Vandeputte family company is 130 years old and has some great expertise in linseed oil production. Rostov region will have the largest linseed production plant in the world. It will be twice as large as similar plants in Belgium," said Henri-François Christian M. Vandeputte.
He further explained the choice of the construction site and the prospects for new production:
"First of all, we have a good support from the government of Rostov region. A lot of production will be exported and the proximity to the port is also of great importance. In addition, we see that residents of Rostov region are well qualified to work in a modern production plant."
Governor of Rostov region called the project promising.
"We commit our support to this project, taking into account the fact that this will be the world's largest production that will be tackling important issues of agricultural processing and export, but most importantly, it is related to human health. We have been having a long-standing and fruitful partnership with ASTON, which will participate in the project on an equal footing with the Belgian company. I believe that this project is bound to be successful, and we will wait for its implementation," commented Vasily Golubev to the press regarding the signed agreement.
