ASTON began to develop the production of starches and syrups with the acquisition in 2011 of the Russian krahmaloprodukty Group, which included two maize processing plants. As part of the strategy of global development of the food ingredients industry for 7 years, the company has carried out a large-scale modernization of enterprises.
In July 2018, one of the largest Russian companies for the production of food and food ingredients ASTON and the international agro-industrial Corporation Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) has launched a Joint Venture to provide Russian customers with high-quality starches and syrups.
Striving for dynamic development and international business standards, the company has passed voluntary certification according to the BRC Global Standard, which was carried out by auditors from the UK and Poland from the international company SAI GLOBAL. BRC Global Standard guarantees the safety of the company's products in accordance with the requirements adopted in European countries. Constantly carried out research works, cooperation with research institutes, and also the multistage systems of control entered at the enterprises at the Joint Venture (ISO 2001, 9000, HACCP) allow to guarantee clients high quality of products. In parallel with the expansion of the main technological cycle, serious attention is paid to environmental safety and reducing the risks that are traditionally associated with the starch industry.
The plants produce a wide range of more than 20 types of flocks, syrups and starches, food and feed for various industries, including modified, native, oxidized and cationic starches, as well as glucose-fructose syrups and corn oil for more than 350 partner organizations in the B2B sector. Clients are the largest confectionery, canning, baking, construction, fat-and brewing company.
